When the student is ready 🥋

I’ve already been fortunate enough to have some amazing conversations with amazing people. I have no idea as to why I’ve been so lucky

The first interaction that comes to mind was during my year 12 prom. I had planned to go home with my date and I had work but I stayed out, whilst at the hotel, we found that the beer tap was unmanned so it was beer all night. Whilst outside we bumped into an American businessman, as per American fashion you tend to hear them before you see them. Not sure how they conversation developed but he shared some sage wisdom such as “why bother reinventing the wheel, just make it more efficient” and why bother having 7 cars when you can only drive one. The former has stuck with me since our talk in 2014.

We can talk about energy and that it is never lost just transferred and I believe I put our good energy which tens to allow mature people to see themselves in me at this stage of my life. I’ve always been stubborn: naive enough to ask questions to accelerate my learning process but more importantly not make the same mistakes that others have. As a result of this pursuit of development, I have received so much amazing advice which is one reason why I started to use this medium to share some of it.

Most recently I had a conversation with Emma O. We spoke about the entrepreneurship being a journey to discover self and some of the lessons she learnt throughout her journey. The point about learning one’s self resonates with me heavily. It’s weird to say I’m on this journey and I don’t know where it will take me. My team and I have gone on to launch a podcast in order to facilitate more conversations and hopefully share what we learn from talking to great people with the world.

Throughout typing this our the saying “when the student is ready the master will appear” has been repeating itself in my mind…
